Jack : The Preterist view is the one that all the prophecies of the Bible happened in the first century, and therefore have no relationship to today.  Oh, really?  When did we ever see 1/3 of the earth burned (Revelation 8:7)?  

1/3 of humanity destroyed through fire, smoke and brimstone  (Revelation 9:18)? When did we ever see every living creature in the sea die (Revelation 16:3)?  Or the battle of Armageddon fought in the earth (Revelation 16:16), accompanied by the greatest earthquake in history (v.18), accompanied by chucks of ice 120 pounds in weight falling to the ground (v.21)  ?

You better re-think your view.

Rexella: So in other words, people who believe in the Preterist theory believe that all the things that we look, say will come, have already happened.

If you're anything like me, you spent January 1, 2000, in sheer panic, sure that the world was about to end and humping all the things you secretly wanted to hump during all those years of non-anarchy.  And after society decided NOT to melt down into chaos, you were stuck in an awkward situation, probably with a cantaloupe down your pants.  It could have been more embarrassing, though.  You could have been a biblical prophet.

YOUR HOSTS, DR. JACK VAN IMPE AND REXELLA
2000 Time Bomb is an 80-minute newscast about the end of the Earth hosted by the most cheerful doomsayers you'll ever meet, Dr. Jack Van Impe and his wife Rexella.  As they lovingly announce on the back of their video's box, ''See how the effects of this predicted computer catastrophe coincide with Bible prophecy regarding the coming of the Lord and the latter days of time on this earth!''  Right next to that sentence describing the simultaneous horrors about to destroy all life on our planet is this picture of Dr. Jack and Rexella grinning.

That doesn't inspire confidence.  How are viewers going to believe that we're all about to die if the people telling us look like they're on their way to a dinner party?  I'm not saying Jack and Rexella have to use a picture of themselves stealing an armful of canned goods from a convenience store, but their predictions of Armageddon would be more believable if they used a photo where they were at least screaming in panic.

Both of the hosts have a special talent to help spread fear through God's love.  Dr. Jack, for example, can take a line from the Bible about ANYTHING, interpret it into a prophecy about Y2K, and blow his own mind with it.  ''Izekiel 12:25; 'And lo he doth braid the hair of the pony...' think about that: some computers have braided wires... and ponies are nature's calendars... praise the word of God!  You see this millenium crisis was predicted right here in the Bible!''

Rexella acts as the video's comic relief.  She doesn't slip on banana peels or wisecracks, but she will make you laugh every 30 or 40 seconds when the camera cuts to show how completely baffled she is by the insanity coming out of her husband's mouth.  Her confused nod gets its best workout in one segment where Dr. Van Impe (hysterically pronounced ''Impie'') explains how Heaven is broken up into three areas.  There's Heaven Number One, which is our atmosphere, made up of the ionosphere, the stratosphere (he lists all the atmospheric layers here to show off his education, but it sort of backfires since I could swear he puts a ''pancake-osphere'' in there somewhere).  Then there's Heaven Number Two, which is from the top of our atmosphere into outer space.  The Third Heaven, which is ''unpronounceable,'' is past outer space.  It's where God lives.  Now, Satan was kicked out of Heaven Number Three, so that means he currently controls outer space and our atmosphere.  And stay with me here, since he controls the air in our atmosphere... he controls the electricity!  That, of course, means Satan controls our computers.  And while viewers are trying to wrap their heads around that, Rexella interrupts to say, ''Satan could sure take advantage of the situation.''  Whether you follow the advice of two insane people sending their message of panic out on electrodes controlled by Satan or not, you have to admit we're in a lot of trouble.

Now that you have no illusions that Satan isn't behind our computer problems, you're ready to hear more from the back of the 2000 Time Bomb box: ''The so-called 'millenium bug' could scramble the electronic minds of computers worldwide in the year 2000... and the universal panic inspired could be the catalyst for the rise of the antichrist, the mark of the beast '666' system for buying and selling, and the advent of the great tribulation!''

Take careful note of how Dr. Jack and Rexella only say the possible computer crash COULD be the catalyst for Satan and the 666 system for buying and selling.  That way, in the unlikely event that the ground doesn't start spitting out demons after your toaster stops working, they don't look like complete idiots.

By the way, the 666 system of buying and selling is a specialized type of commerce designed by Satan where no one is able to buy or sell any goods unless they have ''666'' carved into their foreheads.  Many finance experts argue that this is a superstitious and unrealistic theory, and given the nature of economics, Satan would still sell goods to everyone and only offer a 10% discount to customers branded with the furious mark of his name, not valid with other offers.

IT'S NOT JUST US!  IT'S EXPERTS TOO!
On 14 separate occasions I counted, Dr. Jack stops preaching to make it very clear that it's not just he and his wife who think we're screwed, it's qualified experts.  Because even though Jack mentions that God Himself told the two of them to make this tape'' and warn the small section of the public insane or stupid enough to buy it, he doesn't want to take all the blame just in case God was only kidding.

SCIENTERRIFIC SCRIPTURTASTIC PROOF
The final proof of the validity of the Y2K prophecies is how Dr. Van Impe heard a Utah senator say, ''I'm not going anywhere near a plane on December 31, 1999.''  We've only had airplanes since the turn of the century, and the Bible makes several mentions of flying people.  I hope you're almost convinced because there are only two more sentences of his argument: ''We couldn't have that [type of flying device] three or four, five hundred years ago; that's a tremendous sign.  As the birds fly, so will the Lord.''  There are Japanese game shows about business men putting on diapers and sitting on pies that make more sense than Dr. Van Impe, and the scariest part is that this part of the video is where Rexella's blank stare disappears.  Once you start talking about ancient flying people and how they prove the downfall of our future society, she's right there with you.

WE'RE DEAD, WE'RE SO DEAD
Inside each electronic device is a firmware chip, and when the year 2000 comes around, all of them will malfunction.  This means more than just your clock radio waking you up 100 years late.  Our nuclear weapons will launch, our prison doors will open up and our intravenous drip machines will drip only murder.  And remember, this is according to both God AND experts.  However, Dr. Jack explores this issue of imbedded firmware chips further than most experts when he reminds us that Satan controls all electricity from the Earth to the end of outer space, and the Bible says there will be an ''incredible battle in space'' with ''dragons and angels.''  He never explains what any of this has to do with toaster microchips, but I think you'll agree that it sounds totally sweet.

OOPS
Y2K came and went without a single antichrist dropping out of a rip in the sky, but Jack and Rexella weren't completely wrong to spend an hour and a half making us panic; a cash register in Singapore did slightly malfunction for a few minutes.  Christianity isn't an exact science, so if you're a religious person, 2000 Time Bomb's massively failed predictions might not completely destroy your belief that a red man with a pitchfork is hiding inside your microwave.  Personally, my faith in religion was shattered.  I don't care if Jesus' face appears on a tortilla I'm eating to sing a song about seatbelt safety, I'm not falling for it.  The only miracle that occurred at the dawn of the millennium is that three million videos and books on Y2K survival magically disappeared from stores without even hitting the discount bins.  Thank God they missed this one, though.

I teach Biblical World View to High School students in a Christina School. I am shocked at the ignorance of the parents and the spiritual pride that prevails among "dispensationalists." They will actually cut and paste scripture to fit there fiction books & videos on eschatology. The students on the other hand are smart. They do the math and research the meaning of words in Matthew 24 like " the end of the age" and "this generation" etc... They are quite franlky turned off by Jack & Rexella Hal, and Tim as "they look so lame & rich." What the Van Emps don't realize is that the youth are turned off by sensational hype and pretention. I teach the truth with fear and trembling as I will stand before God one day and give an account- I am paid to teach and I refuse to teach dispensationalism as the Whore of Babylon seems to be doing now.

The apostle Paul spoke that the gospel of Jesus Christ would be offensive to the world. Why do you think that is? Just as in Paul`s day, so is the same now. People refuse to seek God`s understanding of His truth, so they can`t handle it when they hear it. Van Impe regularly makes mention of "1000 year reign of Christ" on earth, but utterly FAILS to read the entirety of the portion of Revelation from which those 1000 years were extracted. This "reign of 1000 years" specifically applies to ONLY priest of God who are resurrected (Rev 20:5,6). The previous passages of Revelation delimit those resurrected to ONLY MALE, judaic priests who are virgins, ie. not defiled by women. Revelation is not written by a Christian, not written by an apostle of Christ, not written by John and is not distant prophecy but rather a near time "vision" of desire couched in what were then present-time frustrations. Revelation is a compilation of old testament omagery that was later given a preface (chapters 1-4) which is the only portion of Revelation drawing on Christian beliefs while simultaneiously chastising 7 errant churches in western Asia Minor an exhibit itself which shows frustration and focus on the times at hand and not times yet to come. Distant prophecy from God is hardly the time to focus on current reprimands. In profering his books and tapes and promoting his "end of times are at hand" philosophy, Van Impe is only appealing to those without hope, are afraid and have limited understanding of the Bible itself and he is doing so to only fill his own coffers with other's money. Van Impe is only a modern-day spiritual snake oil salesman. As snake oil salesmen of old sold products that cured arthritis, rashes, dispepsia, allergies, gout, and aches of pain of all types, a cure-all for any ailment, and everyone has some ailment of some sort generally, so does Van Impe quite literally sell and promote a universal doomsday fear and ovwhelming turmoil, pain, anguish and starvation among the nations of man with the only hope of salvation of this is belief in Jesus Christ. I never fail to be amazed by the seemingly short memory of we Christians. As evidenced here, ole' Jack just keeps rolling along pandering the same nonsensical pablum as always. Appararantly none of the TV audience dared ask any definitive questions, or else 'ole Jack never aired any. Jack certainly isn't the first however. Others have made equally rediculous forcasts with similar results. What continues to confound me is WHAT (if anything) are the readers or listeners possibly thinking???

 I have to flash back to the '80's when the Christian Press published a book called "The coming economic earthquake" by noted Christain author Larry Burkett. In this thoughtful treatise Mr. Burkett saw our economic future in the United States as worse than bleak. He went so far as to sponser the idea that we'd all be better off to sell everything and move to the woods rather than take our chances in the cities of America after the inevitable economic collapse. This was to happen on or about 1990. Well, of course it didn't happen, in fact, those years subsequent to 1990 were THE most prosperous years in American economic history! So what is brother Burkett doing these days? It's unbelievable to me but it's true, he gives investment advice on a nationally syndicated CHRISTIAN radio show hosted by the well respected Dr. Dobson....again, unbelievable. When the secular community calls we Christians extremists and hysterics I can understand. The sad part, of course, is we don't hold these charlatons responsible, we invite them to give investment advice.............unbelievable. Norm Weston Rockford IL.

I am the one who originally forwarded this link for posting. Just to clarify, the article was written in a secular free newspaper ("SurfMetro")by someone who does not seem to me to be saved ("Seanbaby"). Yes, the article is irreverent. The Book of Revelation isn't even scriptural anyway, it's a completely heretical work that doesn't belong in the Bible and wasn't even part of it in the beginning. Well, God has given us His revelation, the scriptures. It is up to us to be consistent in our interpretation. Yes, the Holy Spirit guides us and, yes, there are many different interpretations. However, our guide must ultimately be to interpret scripture using scripture, not the newspaper or television. If we are trying to interpret scripture based on today's current events, we are in error! Remember, although the Bible was written FOR us, it was not written TO us. Fellow Christians. Please. Why can't we reason together? I hate to break it to you, but the Bible is a book that goes back almost 2000 years. That means that there is 2000 years of understanding, exegesis, and interpretation in the church. We become so historically ignorant, and therefore biblically narrow-minded. We approach Scripture with the very limited tools of our own exclusivistic tradition; along with all the secret, inaccessable vocabulary.

So when it comes to eschatology (the study of the "last things"), so many christians think they know what scripture will say before they ever even read it! In many people's minds, the "beast" means 'x', the "mark" means 'y', the "locusts" are 'z', and so on. But really, where did this interpretation come from. Certainly not the earliest interpreters of scripture. That is the great problem with so many of the modern "prophecy scholars". They fail to take into account all of the past understanding of the christians before them. They begin with the premise that "pretribulational dispensationalism" is the only possibly correct view, and then reject any other view as "unbiblical", "unfaithful", etc. Brothers and sisters, lets not be closed minded when it comes to the interpretation of Holy Scripture. Is the book of Revelation really a play-by-play game plan of the "end times"? When we focus on this type of interpretation, we are idolizing "endtimes prophecy" and ignoring the God, who through his Son, has told us that in the end, it is his glory that prevails; and those who remain faithful to christ have hope, despite the circumstances we face in the world

Well, I am not a full preterist, but I gotta say that the jesuits must have gotten to Jack Van Wimpy, cuz over 20 years ago, he was saying how Billy Graham had compromised by becoming friendly to the pope and catholic church, now he has changed his tune as well. Greetings Mr. Imp. I beg to differ with you on the topic of "The Jews being responsibile". for the death of Jesus. Judas set up Christ and Pilot said I find no fault in him so take him and crucify him. They were both jews and they could have stopped the process but they didn't. The jews didn't perform the actual act but but they were responsibile for it because they used the Romans to do thier thier dirty work for them. The Jews were occupied by the Romans at the time and they had to have the Romans do any kind of act such as that because of the laws against them when they were conquered. Read the account again about the set up and the trial. The jews were responsible for the death of Jesus no matter what anyone else thinks. I agree with most of what you say but not about the jews not being responsible for the death of Jesus. Thats like if you hire someone to kill your wife and they do it for you and you stand before God and say I am not responsible for my wife's death because I didn't pull the trigger but the other guy did it my dirty work for me because I didn't have enough nerve to do it myself. Hello, I have read the review of 2000 Timebomb and found it to be quite funny. On a more serious note, I believe that Jesus lived and spread a message of peace and love. Kind of the first hippy I guess. Jesus was a great man killed for sedition against the Roman authority. Nothing more. A sad ending to a beutiful human life. His existance was perpetuated most likely by his followers in order to continue his teachings. The bible is perhaps the greatest story ever told. A living book to honor the man known as Jesus, son of God. Aren't we all the children of God? I believe that every design has a designer. It's that simple. Yes ,hello how are you?I am a 24/w/f.I have lived in florida for 24 years.Anyways I used to go to a Pentacostal church when i was 3,4,5,6,And didnt go all the time.Anyways let me get to the story,when i was 5 years old,I seen a light in the window,i went over to look and i seen a big green devil at the window that tried to bite my head off.I told my mom and she didnt believe me she said just go to sleep,so i did.That next morning i got woke up at 7:00 and it was light outside,i asked,if i could go play outside and my mom said no go back to bed,so when i went to my room,the window was open,and i went closer to look,and as soon as i went to the window,that big green devil,tried to eat me again.I ran away immediatly to the otherside of the room,and the devil was looking at my mouth with full energy and focus trying to get me to open my mouth but i couldnt i was to scared,he was tring to get inside of me,but god wouldnot let him.So he tried once more to get me ,this time he opened up his mouth and a rattlesnake noise came out with a whirlwind and the whirlwind swept me back to his mouth,as soon as i was about to be eaten,i slammed the window shut,actually god shut it.And the devil was gone.I almost got devored and seen it and felt it with my own eyes and body.So tell me this was this a Profecy or what does this mean?let me know my e-mail is Ireena24@aol.com

As far as I see it, Jack & Rexella have never told anyone they are "God". They teach the Salvation of God. The Catholic Rosary has been around for almost as long as the Christian church. I recently discovered that the original Rosery was a series of ten Our Fathers (or The Lords Prayer) but I don't know what other prayers. The Rosary existed before Martin Luther. The Catholic Church switched over to a Rosery with 10 Hail Mary's I think shortly after the split. If the rosary was such an intrinsic part of the religion why did the Protestant denominations drop the rosary in the all together, instead of keeping it in the version with the Lords Prayer?

By the pending entry of Turkey into the EU and the comments from Europeans I see a strong chance of mass conversion in the EU to ISLAM. I still strongly believe that it will be the one world religion. It's sad when you talk to people who believe there is nothing wrong and express the idea that being a Muslim isn't so bad because you are still praying to God. As a believer in Christ, I am not one to place judgement on you for making this website. Afterall, God gives us the freedom to make our own decisions and you must live your own life by your own convictions. What I will tell you is that anyone who messes with the people of God, such as Dr.Jack Van Impie and Rexella, will stand in judgement before God one day.

The great thing about people is... We're all human, we all make mistakes. Afterall, this is why God gave his only begotten son, who died on the cross for all of us. It is your right to have your opinion but remember that you will be held accountable for everything you say or do and even the people you have possibly influenced. Maybe this will not occur today but tomorrow is never guaranteed. The time when Christ returns is near. I believe we will see it in our lifetime. The Bible talks of Israel finally becoming a nation and when that happens, that generation will not pass by before the second coming of the Lord... Israel became a nation in 1948.

A generation in our times is usually 60-70 years but that is not the same as a generation then. You're looking anywhere from 51-70 years. The time is so close. Everyone, please look at your heart. Please seek God. Please accept him as your Lord and Savior and do not be judgemental. Don't be hateful and cruel because one day you will have to stand before God to explain yourself. One day, unless you get your heart right, you will have to pay for messing with God's people. Think about it... Pray about it... please.

I watched the show a few times. I think Dr. Jack Van Impie is sincere and serves the -OD in his own way with and emphasis on bible prophecy. His views might be different from a lot of people and a turn off to some, but perhaps spark and interest in others. Everyone that is hungry for the truth should listen to whoever might spark that hunger in their teachings. I think it's wrong to denounce or persecute Catholics or the Pope, Babtists, Jews or anyone else as long as they are teaching acurate scriptures. At the very end, in the book of revelation it clearly warns of anyone adding or taking away from these prophecies. I think everyone should read, pray and let the Spirit of -OD give them wisdom in it's understanding. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are many things, some can interpret prophecy, speak in ancient angelic tongue, understand tongue, but not know how to speak it, heal, teach, ect. It's a team effort!

There is so much hate in the world today even among Christians. We out to be the light of the world, with a positive view and a attraction to those who are in the dark. Those who insensitively hate and bash homosexuals, adulterers, pro abortionist, ect. We need to take a step back and teach with the most loving gentle and kind way against these things and if it doesn't work, we should should then pray. After all we are all sinners with problems of our own. Let us take the speck out of our own eye, before we go telling others to do the same. -OD gave us all a free will and he does not force us to worship him, and if he being far greater then us and without fault (perfect being, then who are we to force our own belief on others. Some people wonder how -OD can exist if so many people in the world die such as happened form the Tsunami, killing so many beautiful innocent children. It's hard to contemplate, but then I remember that Jesus (YASHUA) died willingly for our sakes. He is also beautiful, innocent, perfect and blameless. I listen to Jack Van Impe now and then, and you have to give him credit for knowing the bible so well. but not every person interrupts every verse the same.That is why it is so important to study the bible yourself. then you will know if what they are saying is true.IT is the duty of every christian to try to bring nonbelievers to christ and that is all he is trying to do. The book of Revelations, and prophecy alike, have always peeked my curiosity and interest. I have seen Dr. Impe's show on the television a few times and must say, he is quite knowledgeable with scripture (even though I feel he is grasping at straws most times) and I see how he could be quite persuasive, especially to someone looking to believe that the Lord is coming soon. I have never sent in or called for any of his books, videos, or other products.... I figured that if he was so interested in letting me know about the future of this World, he could sell that $1000 watch on his wrist, or any number of those rings appearing on his or his wife's fingers, and use that money for shipping and handling purposes to get their material to me.

I don't mean to blast the good doctor so much, and forgive me for my judgments, after all, when all of the bells and whistles are removed from his programing, and you look past all the superficial showmanship, he does do a little educating on the subject of prophecy. So.... No more judgments from me.... That is the Lord's work, not mine.

Because Paul told us in IICor.11:3-5; that we would bear with the false prophet that teaches a false gospel which the Apostles did not teach. I believe the Lord is rising up Apostles once again in the church world. Not just to pick on someone such as Jack Van impe; But to be faithful to his covenant for his name sake. You know, if we look back to the days of Jesus, we would see that he come to change the customs of the land in that day.

I believe that we are ripe for another visitation of the Lord just as the early saints had back then. Because both, the sheep & goats, wheat & tares has crept back into the vineyard of God. And let me tell you, when the Lord comes (in the spirit) judgment goes before him! Just like in the days of Noah, and the days of Lot! AND THE DAYS OF THE FIRST CENTRY! So let me say this, I believe it will get worse, until “his gospel” once again restores the truth. “Just like it did 2000 years ago!”
So don’t think it’s strange that some are now stepping up to proclaim truth. And not everyone is going to receive it with gladness. Because the Bible tells us in PS.149:5-9, that the Lord’s judgment comes through his saints.
And yes this message of the first century will bring conflict and argument. But I myself believe it’s for Christ’s name sake. Yes we might be stepping on some toes, but things need to be made known! Because remember, Jesus did not come to bring peace but a division (LK:12:51) And this division is to separate truth from error! And His truth is what will set you free from all these man made doctrines.
And as far as people like Jack Van impe, and Hal Linsey, I believe that they have only been address with some question and nothing more. Even I have e-mailed them some very simple questions and they never reply.
Let me tell you, as I have seen this message about the first century go forth, it has brought a lot of questions. But The Lord has these answers, and it is his good pleasure to give us the spirit of truth.

If Mr. Van Impe, even though he is annointed, would read the books that the freemasons wrote themselves, such as "morals and Dogma" and "lost keys of freemasonry" he would see that they themselves admit occultism in their own writings. It's hard to believe a man as educated as Dr. Van Impe is so adamant regarding the rapture theory. There's NOwhere in the Bible that supports a pre-trib rapture. The much quoted 1 Thes. 4:16 & 17 refers not to a rapture but to the return of the Lord, appearing at the trump of God (the 7th trump--see Rev. 10:7 "But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets."),and states that those who are alive on earth will be gathered to the Lord. Whose Bible is it? How can there be such a think as a "Jack Van Impe Prophecy Bible"? The Bible belongs to God and God's Church, not to any one man as an individual "private interpreter." No prophecy of Scripture is of ANY private interpretation. Jack Van Impe, in his premises, follows through on what he apparently believes.
Here we see the Protestant Reformation's false premise of "sola scriptura" (the Bible alone), leaves us with as many as 20,000 different private interpretations of the Bible alone, that is, the Bible according to someone's man-made traditions.
We have been warned not to trust men but to trust God.
I feel sadness for people who trust Van Impe more than they trust the Bible.
In keeping with the sad history of the misinterpretation of the last book of the Bible, of the New Testament, the Orthodox Church does not read from Revelation in her church liturgy, divine and holy eucharistic services. Thank God for that!

John 3:16 is so basic and simple, it leaves no room for us to require for anyone's salvation by Jesus Christ any wild-eyed, fanatic interpretations of the Apocalypse of St. John, or of the prophecies of Daniel, Ezekiel, etc.

We must understand that in the very beginning of Revelations it said “John was in the SPIRIT on the Lords day” So this means he was not in his earthly thinking mind as we so often are. I pray that we would truly humble ourselves when trying to understand Gods word. Because until we have truly given our life unto the Lord, Jesus said in Mark 4 “that all the mysteries would be spoken in parables.” For it’s not given unto the spirit of this world to know the secrets of the Lord.

Furthermore, the people that were to receive this mark, was going to be separated from the Lord and all his glory. Which brings to my remembrance what Isa.59:2 had said "But your iniquities have SEPARATED between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear"

As a child of God I need to know that our leaders of the Ministry know and teach the truth. Jack and Rexella mean well, and I don't doubt that what they teach is of a true heart. But their heart is misleading them into their continued messages of false predictions. I will not go into detail of how many false predictions Jack has made since the 80's. He'll claim his predictions still stand, but it takes a true man of God to confess his sins, of which he has many un-confessed sins by not telling the truth; especially when his predictions turn out to be lies.

Once a false prophet is proven to be false, we are to ignore this person, because that which he speaks is not of God, but of his own imagination. And Jack comes up with the wackiest things his imagination can run with.

The New Heaven and New earth is not a destruction of the Old Heaven and Old Earth, but a replacement. The New Heaven and New Earth are about ruling. Under the Old Law, Heaven and Earth existed under the guidance of a tutor, leading us to Christ. When Christ came, the Old Heaven and Old Earth were nailed to the cross, but the New Heaven and New Earth had not yet been built. Christ chose His beloved elect to build the Kingdom and spread it to all of mankind; to the Jew first and finally to the Gentiles (The Roman dominated Nations).

When people think of New Heaven and New Earth, they assume this means the earth will be destroyed. This is not the case because the word of God states that the earth will abide forever.

In the first century, God shook the very foundations of the earth, having removed governments, kingdoms, kings, rulers, and all those in authority. The first foundation to be shaken was Jerusalem, which suffered great destruction under a fire so bright and large, the entire city was destroyed. More than 1,100,000 Jews were killed as a result of their betrayal of Christ; these were the generation of His wrath, of the Great Day of the Lord. Rightly did John say, "Look! He comes with the clouds, and all the tribes of the earth will see Him! Even those who pierced Him!" His coming was in the signs and destruction which came upon Jerusalem. For Christ warned the Apostles to flee from Jerusalem when they saw the armies surrounding her, and they fled to the hills of Pella after seeing this massive destruction preparing itself against Jerusalem! There were tens of thousands which surrounded the city, who contained the Jews within the walls they built. And this containment of war lasted for 3 1/2 years. This led to starvation and famine, of which Christ wept before He entered Jerusalem, knowing what was to come. Christ warned the women in tears, as they saw our Lord suffering on the cross, yet He says, "Do not weep for me, but for yourselfs! For a time will come when they shall say 'blessed is the barren women, and the one who did not nurse (give suck) in those days'....for these are the days of vengence of all that has been written". Women ate their children in order to live, as Josephus testifies in his writings. This happened because they rejected Him, Christ sending His "cloud" of destruction upon them, which began in 62AD and ended in 70AD.

But Jerusalem was not alone, for the Romans too suffered the same fate. Just as the temple in Jerusalem was destroyed, so too did the temple in Rome suffer destruction! And just as the Jews suffered persecution, starvation, and death as a result of their betrayal, so too did the Romans die by the thousands, either by plagues, diseases, earth quakes, volcano's, and other disasters beyond their control. Italy alone suffered the deaths of more than 10,000 of its citizens during the civil war in 69AD, as many Roman leaders attempted to claim the throne of Rome after Nero's suicide! What brightness would come from any kingdom, except by Christianity? Even in Pliny's letter to Trajan in the last 90's, explained how the temples of Rome were all but empty! This explained why the Romans fought so hard against the Church. But without lifting one single weapon, except the word of God, the Church was victorious over every tongue, people, and language. AS I'VE STATED, the foundations of the earth were indeed shaken.

And out of every war, famine, or disaster, which Kingdom lived through it all? The same Kingdom which has ruled the earth without end, having shaken all the foundations and hills which existed in those days, leaving more glorified hills and stars to rule the earth, and shall never be destroyed! But the true star rules from the highest of all hills, and the temple is one which shall never be destroyed or see corruption. This Hill sits above the highest hills, with more beautiful pillars and stones more marvelous than any man-made temple. He, who can hear, let him do so.

This is what is meant by the New Heaven and New Earth.

I, for one, am anxiously awaiting the return of Jesus. No one knows the day or the hour, but Jesus told his FOLLOWERS in the book of Matthew a time pattern laid out by "signs". The main one was when the fig tree (which in the scriptures refer to Israel) puts on new life (May 14, 1948) that this generation will not pass away until all is fulfilled. He also added that when you see ALL of these "signs", that the "time is near; even at the door". Why would any Christian have a look of horror at the expectation of Jesus's return? I thank God that my life on this earth at this time is not all that I have to live for and the best of what I have. When my Savior returns and wins the war over evil, then there will be no more sin, sorrow, pain, separations, etc.. I don't know of any Christians that thought the end would come January 1, 2000. The prophecies in the Bible aren't laid out for or based on cliches in the computer system, but what happens in the Middle East and Israel. Imagine an earth and time when never again will one have to lock up anything, or carry a weapon for protection, or worry about being attacked, abused, abandoned, or unloved. A world full of only good, honest, loving people who actually practice the Golden Rule.

I never fail to be amazed by the seemingly short memory of we Christians. As evidenced here, ole' Jack just keeps rolling along pandering the same nonsensical pablum as always. Appararantly none of the TV audience dared ask any definitive questions, or else 'ole Jack never aired any. Jack certainly isn't the first however. Others have made equally rediculous forcasts with similar results. What continues to confound me is WHAT (if anything) are the readers or listeners possibly thinking???

I have to flash back to the '80's when the Christian Press published a book called "The coming economic earthquake" by noted Christain author Larry Burkett. In this thoughtful treatise Mr. Burkett saw our economic future in the United States as worse than bleak. He went so far as to sponser the idea that we'd all be better off to sell everything and move to the woods rather than take our chances in the cities of America after the inevitable economic collapse. This was to happen on or about 1990. Well, of course it didn't happen, in fact, those years subsequent to 1990 were THE most prosperous years in American economic history! So what is brother Burkett doing these days? It's unbelievable to me but it's true, he gives investment advice on a nationally syndicated CHRISTIAN radio show hosted by the well respected Dr. Dobson....again, unbelievable. When the secular community calls we Christians extremists and hysterics I can understand. The sad part, of course, is we don't hold these charlatons responsible, we invite them to give investment advice.............unbelievable. Norm Weston Rockford IL.

Furthermore the number six in Akkadian cuneiform is two rows of three wedges stacked either vertically or horizontally (Labat sign #598b, Borger sign #862) and has no relation to A (Labat sign #579, or Borger sign #839). I have no idea how someone could get A from the number six in babylonian cuneiform, but where there's a will, there's a way.

Jack Van Impe is the voice of a prophet of the Lord heard through a 10 billion watt megaphone and Rexella is one hot bobble-head Biznitch! How can you not love these people?!! Disillusioned or Dangerous, Geriatric or Genius - they're more fun than trying to eat tacos on a rollercoaster! God loves all of his children but there has to be a special place in His heart for Jack and Rexella and although I am just a doofus human, I love the crap out of them too!
